Everyday life
Supporting your day with everyday activities that feel hard
So many of the hardest moments in family life happen around everyday things - getting dressed, brushing teeth, eating, sleeping, leaving the house. For autistic and PDA children, these tasks can feel overwhelming, not because they don’t want to cope, but because their nervous system is already working so hard. In this section, we look at daily living through a kinder, more understanding lens, offering reassurance and ways to reduce pressure and help your child feel safer again. We often find that when pressure eases, children feel less avoidant and more able to engage in their own time.
